Winter's Wind

$1,495.00

Acrylic on Canvas

750 x 1000mm

After painting predominantly with a palette knife, I discovered a few artists that painted with the same type of ferocity as myself with the brush. I was intrigued by their style and wanted to feel that expression for myself. I set off on a series of 3 in which I used the colours of Sienna, Umber, Ochre, Gold & Black. I’ve always been in love the abstract expression of oneself, the brush created these smooth and furry blends of colour as one passes through another.

To me, This work reminds me of wind shooting down a valley, the grass has burnt off and we are left with the tones of the dried shrubbery as the wildlife scatters themselves across the land. Winter’s Wind is the representation of this emotion.
