I want you to picture your happy place, a place that’s unique to you.
Maybe it’s on some faraway beach or off the beaten path, surrounded by native bush. One of mine is a field that sees the sunset, it’s been raining the week before so the grass is long. I like to take my shoes off and watch the colour of light change. Golder and golder the grass becomes as the sun starts to fall behind the hills, that roll into the mountains, that roll into the clouds.
As an abstract artist I get the privilege of translating feelings into artwork, my work revolves around by doing so through colour, texture, stroke, and medium. Over and over I have found myself going back to this place where I feel the most human, I feel the most myself. It had called me enough now to think about it in my practice which led to one work, to another, and now a collection.
Everything’s gone green is a reflection of Aotearoa’s beautiful rural surroundings, the artwork simply ‘exists’ just like nature does.I hope that through this work I can share a meditative space with you that opens up that question within yourself, where do you go to be set free?
